Langdam Farm has been on a long journey to get to where it is today, ruins of the original 19th century farm house can still be seen, reminding us of the first people who loved this land. Under new ownership since 2015, the farm will continue to provide guests with the experience and quality they have become accustomed to over the years.

Langdam has been given a new lease on life, bringing the fruit trees back into production, the introduction of vineyards to the farm and the development of the beautiful wedding venue.

We are 185 Kilometers from Century City in Cape Town and just 30 minutes from the historic town and hot springs of Montagu. The surrounding area offers wine tasting, kloofing expeditions, horse riding, golfing, tractor rides as well as good old traditional South African cuisine and hospitality.

Overlooking the main dam, there is a stone and timber lapa where guests can braai, enjoy the bird life, swim, fish for bass, row a boat or just laze in the water on a tractor tube in true farm style. Next to the Lapa there is also a swimming pool for those who do not want to swim in the dam. We have a wagon converted jungle gym and stables nearby, which is also a big hit with the children.

We are Pet friendly, however only in certain cottages with enclosed gardens away from the main house and not in the campsite. If you would like to bring your dogs along please let us know before hand.  If you do bring your dogs with you to the farm, please arrange with us in advance if you would like to bring your dogs near the main house.
This area is home to SIX friendly dogs that are part of the Langdam Family.

Being close to the mountain, there are snakes. If you take your dog along for hikes, please just be aware of  the possibility that they may encounter a snake.

Unfortunately the nearest vet hospital is in Robertson (70km).

We will not be held accountable for any injuries/fatalities to your pets while they are on the farm.

Langdam has something for everyone. It is a wonderful place for people who have an interest in photography, painting, hiking, mountain biking, stargazing, fishing or simply want to relax and enjoy a weekend with friends and family.

For a relaxing holiday away from the stresses of everyday life join us on our farm and experience

what we do to try and make a difference

These days, it is so important to be aware of how you and your business are affecting the environment.

No matter how small, there are always ways to do things differently in order to do your bit to be more actively sustainable. Here at Langdam Guest Farm, we implement various practices and look for new ways to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Sustainability practices

- Use of solar and gas geysers

- use of solar powered boreholes

- Gas stoves in cottages

- grey water systems  for reuse of water in gardens

- Encourage use of organic waste bins ( scraps to be given to livestock)

- Recycling bins in communal locations

- Removal of alien vegetation on the farm, used as source of fuel ( fireplaces and cooking)

- Organic compost generated on the farm

- Beehives on the farm, encouragement of natural ecosystems

- Ethical farming practices and steps to ensure water conservation

- Use of energy saving lighting in cottages

- Use of less paper through email of receipts
